Physical Nintendo Switch 2 games
Nintendo Switch 2 introduced the Game-Key Card: a physical card that doesn't contain the game, only a license authorizing you to download it in full from the eShop the first time you use it. It looks identical to a normal game card, but it needs an internet connection and storage space just like a digital copy -- the only way to tell is by checking the box or the game's own listing. Here we split the two apart.
Full physical: the game is on the cartridge (62)
No mandatory extra download (beyond patches). Works offline as soon as you have it in hand.
Game-Key Card only: the cartridge is a license (20)
The card authorizes the download, but the game itself takes up the same space and needs the same connection as the digital version.
